The fate of Kuttandadu

Kuttanadu, also known as the “rice bowl” of Kerala is one of the few regions of the world that produces rice at the below mean sea level.

Inspite the whole region surrounded by rivers and back waters, the people who living here facing shortage for drinking water.

Unplanned constructions of water regulatory mechanisms makes flood during the monsoon season.

House boats play an equally  role in contaminating the drinking water by leaving their waste and sewage into the water itself.

I found a family, they go long distance to get pure water for their day to day needs. Sad but this truth.
